All babies a special they are all miracles. This little one is a little extra special to me. I have spoken to his mother many times about the day I would photograph their baby, and in this time we both knew that there was a real possibility he would never be. This little boys father has cancer, and he was not meant to be here today, he is a childhood friend of my husband and I a groomsman at our wedding and the the most amazing, strong and resilient person we know. His Mother is even stronger, to watch someone you love struggle and fight for their life is heartbreaking and yet they both did it all with a smile and positive outlook I will forever admire you both for your strength. Overcoming the odds our friends has been off treatment for almost two years now and little Hugo was born just over 2 weeks ago today, when he was 10 days old a day I had hoped and dreamed for alongside his mother and father became a reality.
I spent my day cuddling and gushing over this prefect little human with his amazing parents, in owe of them again as they had not only beaten the odds they had created a human that we will all smother in love daily and be thankful for the gift of life, a true blessing
You are the prefect Master Hugo and more loved than I think you will ever understand.

And as an Aunty I am totally every bit as cool as his name 😉
I am so amazing proud of my gorgeous SIL and baby Bro!

These beautiful beings, I have know for a while and I had the pleasure of photographing their beautiful big girl Isabel as a newborn.
They were always meant to be a family of 5. Mumma Nat is a beautiful caring woman and motherhood shows that to the world. Alan her doting husband is always full of praise for everyone and is such a lovely genuine guy!
They are raising some gorgeous kids who are going to have big hearts just like their Mum and Dad.

I was so excited when Nat emailed me to book in a session with their “icing on the cake” little miss Olivia.

Anyone who has met me, or walked into my home will see straight away my love of photo’s. I grew up with a Mother who has never been big on photo’s at all there not much of me or my siblings once we turned one, maybe a few birthday snaps here and there and good old school photo’s. Thats about it, so I have no idea exactly where my love of them comes from. It has always been there though, I remember beginning my journey into photography I was at a cross roads, in a job that paid the bills, my co workers were nice but I felt I wanted more from my work. My now husband and I went away for a weekend to the Grampians and I took around 300 photos on a camera I had been given for my birthday in just 3 days, when I got home and realised how many I had taken while printing some out I took it as a sign. I borrowed a camera from my Father in law a Sony SLR and enrolled in night school at a beginners course. I loved every second, prior to this I had not ever picked up an SLR camera just a regular point and shoot camera. I had enrolled in my next course before I even finished the 1st one and brought my very 1st camera.

I had no idea where it would take me or what was to come I just knew I wanted to learn and photograph more.
I completed my next course and on the very last week I found out I was pregnant, I had already known I wanted to focus on babies and children and had completed a few of my assessments photographing anyone I knew with kids and babies friends of friends nieces and nephews, anyone.
I continued to practice more and as my belly grew.
Just weeks before my son was born with a lot of encouragement from friends, family and people I had already photographed, I put my work online. Initially as a public gallery to share which very quickly turned into bookings.
I can’t believe it is 5 years on I now have 2 boys of my own and have had the opportunity to photograph so many amazing babies and families. I am so grateful I looked for more and didn’t just sit comfortably in my 9-5.
Photography has given me time out from being mum, confidence to believe in myself and so much more and that is all because of my amazing clients who have given me this opportunity and friends and family for the support and encouragement!
So to all of you Thank you for trusting my with your most precious beings and all your love. I am forever grateful to you all.

As the month of January and my photo a day project closes I am thankful that I took the time to do it. I look back over the month and see our boys, just as they are right now in this time and space and I know I will have these memories to look back on forever more.
I am thankful to have two beautiful boys who are young wild free and my greatest achievement.
I am thankful that you all joined in on the ride, with your lovely comments learning a little more about us all along the way.
I am already excited to do it again next year.
