That hair, your hair. It was your 1st big sign of individuality, you asked to grow it long. You knew that meant it need to be washed and brushed more regularly.
You have loved it growing, asking, How long is it now?
When will it reach my toes?
You have also experienced shallow mindedness because of your hair, you have been told to get a hair cut by strangers, you have been called a girl by friends, you even had a hair cut (not just a trim) a few months ago and it broke my heart it you felt the need to do that at such a young age, but you also grew it again.
I am proud of you for being you, to grow it long, to tell others, I like it! and embracing that, this reason alone is enough.
